- What started as pandemic boredom turned into a full-blown love affair with switches, stabs, and sound dampening foam. I began with a humble Epomaker TH98 and budget Budgerigar switches… and somehow ended up deep in the rabbit hole of polycarbonate builds, aluminum chassis, and artisan keycaps.
From my LOTR-themed wood-cased board to high-end builds like the Percent Studio Trio75 and Bubble75, every keyboard tells a story—and types like a dream. Even my wife caught the bug, graduating from early builds to beauties like the Createkeebs Thera75 and Glacier80.
Yes, they cost a bit more than your average Razer or Corsair - but they’re built to last, and nothing compares to the buttery smooth feel and glorious thock of a custom. Whether it’s tuning the PCB, lubing switches, or choosing the perfect keycap set, this hobby is as satisfying as the finished product. Once you go custom, you’ll never go back.
