Euro Excursion to Paris, Disneyland, Switzerland, and Milan
Date
August 2012
Location
Paris, France | Kandern, Germany | Crans-Montana, Switzerland | Milan, Italy
- Our first European adventure together began with a long haul - landing in Frankfurt, where I promptly drove eight hours straight to Paris, powered by jet lag, adrenaline, and a stubborn love for the open road. Paris welcomed us with open arms and buttery croissants. We made our way to Montmartre, not just for the views, but to recreate my parents’ iconic portrait painting, decades after they first sat for it in the same spot - a surreal and sacred moment of generational tribute.
From there, we lived our inner kids’ dream at Disneyland Paris, proof that joy doesn't come with an age limit (but it does come with long queues and magical fireworks).
Switzerland came next, where beauty is just casually spilled across every mountain and valley. We made a meaningful stop in Crans-Montana, where I revisited my alma mater, Les Roches, and took Kuntida on a gondola ride above the Alps - an experience equally breathtaking and grounding.
But the most unforgettable moment of our entire trip? Our baptism in the Rhine River - a holy, humbling, and heaven-ordained moment we will never forget. A public declaration of faith, right there in the middle of Europe’s flowing waters. The trip could’ve ended right there and our hearts would’ve been full.
We wrapped up in Milan, a city that effortlessly blends high fashion with centuries-old reverence. Between cappuccinos and cathedrals, we soaked in every last bit of gratitude.
Through every leg of this journey - every toll booth, mountain pass, and quiet prayer - we were reminded that God’s fingerprints are everywhere. This wasn’t just a vacation. It was a testimony in motion.
