A Date Twice Blessed - Love, Faith, and Resurrection

April 5th has always been sacred ground for us.

A date that marks the quiet beginning of something that, at the time, neither of us could fully comprehend. Two lives intersecting, not by accident, but by design - guided, I now believe with absolute certainty, by a hand far greater than our own.

Since 2005, this day has returned each year as a steady reminder of love, commitment, growth, and grace. Through seasons of joy, uncertainty, laughter, and testing, it has remained a constant - like a lighthouse that never flickers, even when the seas around it grow restless.

But today carries a deeper resonance.

Because this year, our anniversary converges with Easter. A rare alignment - one that has only occurred twice since our journey began. And yet, it feels anything but coincidental.

Easter, at its core, is the story of sacrifice, redemption, and resurrection. It is the ultimate expression of love - not the convenient kind, but the enduring kind. The kind that gives, that restores, that renews.

And in many ways, it mirrors the very essence of what marriage is meant to be. Not perfection - but perseverance. Not ease - but intention. Not simply love felt - but love chosen, again and again.

And then… there are the notes.

For 21 years, my wife has written to me. Not through fleeting messages that disappear into screens, but through ink, paper, and intention. Small, deliberate expressions of her heart, preserved in a way that time cannot easily erode.

What began as something simple has, over the years, evolved into something extraordinary.

Since she embraced journaling a few years ago, these notes have reached an entirely different dimension - layered, thoughtful, almost like miniature works of art.

The one she created to commemorate the significance of today, in particular, feels exceptional.

Perhaps it is the occasion. Perhaps it is the weight of 21 years behind it. Or perhaps it is simply the realization that after all this time, she still chooses - deliberately and beautifully - to love in this way.

There is something deeply humbling about being loved like this.

In a world that celebrates speed, she chooses stillness. In a world that leans on convenience, she leans into craft. In a world that often forgets, she remembers - consistently, faithfully, beautifully.

Through every high and low, we have been carried, often more than we have walked. Sustained by faith. Anchored by grace. Reminded that we are never alone in this covenant we share.

Today, I don’t just celebrate us.

I give immense thanks and gratitude.

For God’s hand over our lives. For His patience with our imperfections. For His unwavering presence in our story. For the quiet miracles that have shaped us, strengthened us, and kept us moving forward together.

What are the odds that our beginning would, on this rare occasion, align with the very day that represents new life?

Perhaps this is more than coincidence.

Perhaps it is a reminder. That love, when rooted in Him, is never stagnant. It is renewed. Refined. Resurrected.

21 years of notes. 21 years of choosing. 21 years of grace.

Happy Anniversary, my love. And above all - Happy Easter, to one and all!
